KARE KEPITING


KARE KEPITING is  a Crab curry.  I love this seafood curry, so damn good. I got 2 recipes from 2 mothers who love me the most, my mother and mother in-law. Both of them are really the best chef when they are still exist in this world.  Both of them has 2 different characters when they are cooking since both from different part of Java. My mother in-law is originally from middle of Java (Solo) and my mom is originally from East Java.  This one is from mother in-law recipe turn.

What you need is ...  a giant crab and coconut milk

INGREDIENTS for the curry
  • Bawang merah (shallot)
  • Bawang putih (garlic)
  • Lombok merah (red pepper)
  • Kunyit (turmeric)
  • Kemiri (candlenut)
  • Ketumbar (coriander seed)
  • Jinten (cumin)
  • Merica (pepper)
  • Sereh (lemongrass)
  • Jahe (ginger)
  • Daun jeruk (lime leaf)
  • Daun salam (bay leaf)
  • Laos (galangal)

How to make it
  • Ulek semua bumbu diatas kecuali Sereh, jahe, d.jeruk, d, salam, laos (grounds all the ingredients above except the bold one)
  • Gongso semua bumbu (saute all the ingredients that already paste)
  • Masukkan kepiting (put the crab inside)
  • Masukkan santan (pour the coconut milk)
  • Masak hingga matang dan bau harum (cook until well done and smell so damn good!).
